Most companies would struggle with their day-to-day without reliable tape.
As they say with great power comes great responsibility, tape is no different, we must look at the tape’s environmental impact. Until recent years unless you removed all of the tape from a box you would turn a recyclable box into one that cannot be recycled.
This all changed with the introduction to paper tape. Let’s explore the benefits of paper tape and why should use them over un-recyclable tapes?
Environmental
The big benefit of paper tape is that it is recyclable and a lot of time compostable, making it extremely environmentally friendly. It’s not just the fact that non-recyclable tape cannot be recycled, some tapes can leave residue on the recyclable cardboard boxes afterward. Leading to the box not being recyclable anymore as it can damage recycling machinery.

Important benefits
The paper tape also has some important benefits to it, first and foremost paper tape has an extremely strong adhesive to help it stick to any surface. It’s actually stronger than most standard plastic tapes, so there is less chance of boxes coming open and harder for theft. Paper tape is also more temperate tolerant, meaning it holds its seal better in hotter and colder temperatures. Again, you would have less chance of the box opening and goods being broken or lost.
Cost
Paper tape is actually a very cost-effective alternative to plastic tape, this is because the paper tape is very cheap to manufacture as the resources are readily available. This allows manufacturing to happen all over the world. In addition, paper tape is also easier to brand with logos, without making it less recyclable.

Speed
Paper tape can also be used in water-activated machines, which gives the tape the potential to be extremely fast and time-saving for a business to get goods out faster- saving money on labour as well.
